Xiaomi’s popularity is proved yet again but this time not by sales, by theft instead

Xiaomi Store

In a bizarre incident that happened in India, a truck transporting Xiaomi’s smartphones were looted. The Kolkata bound truck started out from Sri City. The incident took place in the district of Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The truck driver went to a truck lay-by-bay to park his truck and rest for some time. Reports suggest that the whole act of robbery was carried out by 4 men. The driver claims that he was beaten and tied to a tree before those 4 men drove the truck away.

The truck was carrying Xiaomi smartphones worth over Rupees 1 crore. The police claimed that the phones were priced between Rupees 6,000 and 14,000. The company is the most popular brand in the Indian smartphone market as it captures more than 20% of the market. It is in competition with Samsung for the top spot, which keeps jumping from Xiaomi to Samsung and back to Xiaomi every quarter.

Xiaomi is popular for being an affordable brand and people love their entry-level and mid-range models. These models range from Rupees 6,000 to 15,000. The robbery proves the popularity of the phones as the robbers would get a good deal of smartphones. Moreover, they would not have to wait a single minute as these devices can be sold to anybody in absolutely no time.

There could be some technical difficulties such as the official warranty might not be signed by the seller and an official bill might be missing. However, these documents can easily be forged by people. The popularity of these devices has resulted in such an untowardly incident. Similar incidences have happened in the past.

From now on, the companies should take additional care and protection while transporting devices of such high demand and of such high amount as well. The places of rest such as the Truck lay-by-bay need more security as well.
