Samsung TV

Home appliance market in India is a gold mine for the South Korean electronics major Samsung. It has gained a huge market share in almost all the home appliance categories. However, the largest of them is its television range.

Samsung is one of the most preferred TV brands in India. It competes with the players such as LG, Sony, Panasonic and so on. Samsung is known for a wide reach in India. It has huge showrooms and the even sells through the small and large multi-brand electronics stores across India.

The company launched a new range of Ultra HD TVs called the Samsung Super 6 Series. Before we delve into the features of the TV, we need to consider the fact that it is an online exclusive range. This is the first time that Samsung has launched a TV that can be purchased via online channels only. The TVs will be available on Samsung’s website, Flipkart and Amazon, the two largest e-commerce platforms present in India.

The Super 6 UHD TVs come in 3 sizes:

  1. 43 inches – 41,990 Rupees
  2. 50 inches – 51,990 Rupees
  3. 55 inches – 61,990 Rupees

The TVs have been launched keeping in mind the steep competition it is getting from the new entrants into the Indian market. The brands such as Xiaomi and Thompson are giving good competition to the established players. The major reason for such a competition is the price. The brands that focus only on online channels tend to save a lot on transportation and middlemen costs, which ultimately benefits the consumers in the form of less price of the product. Samsung is also giving out early bird discounts. People purchasing before 14th Marc will get an additional 2000 Rupees discount on the price.

Samsung as a brand always believed in the touch a feel experience of the customers for a long time. However, the changing dynamics of the Indian electronics market has compelled the company to take decisions that are new to it. Samsung has taken the path of the online exclusive channel for the first time in its history in India. Samsung understood that more and more users prefer online stores, as the price is less. People visit the offline stores to just take a look at and feel the product but then come home and order the same product online.

Samsung’s Super 6 TVs are smart and they are equipped with numerous features. It comes with support for Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos, YouTube, Google Play Movies, Jio Cinema, Sony Liv and Eros Now. All these OTT platforms make the TV an ideal purchase for the modern generation who spend more time watching online content than traditional TV content. Moreover, it also comes with Live Cast, Tune Station, Smart Convergence and Lag Free Gaming Mode. In terms of connectivity, the TVs come with HDR 10 support and 2 HDMI inputs.

The UHD TV market has heated up in recent times as newer players are entering the market. Xiaomi has been the most outstanding performer recently as it has captured the entry-level smart TV market and is slowly doing the same with the higher end UHD TV market as well.
