Samsung recently launched a plethora of phones. The company has also done a lot of new launches in the subcontinent of India to try and win back from Xiaomi. However, it has not let the premium users down as the Galaxy launch event was a bomb in all the positive ways. It was one of the finest launch events in the history of launch events and there were many devices launched to dazzle the ever so hungry tech community.
Samsung launched its premium smartphone line with Samsung S10, S10+, and S10E. These smartphones truly gained all the attention. Everybody was startled with amazing screens and dazzling cameras. There were many other things which were announced with the phones and one of those things absolutely stole the show. It was the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The foldable phone from Samsung won all the hearts. The demo was outstanding and the software on it was just out of this world.
The 7.3-inch display which it offer=s when fully expanded is one of its kind. It has an insane six cameras on the phone. It has three cameras on the back, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor, 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera. There are two cameras on the inside as well; a 10-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel RGB depth camera. The last one is on the front; a 10-megapixel sensor on the front.
This where the Samsung won over Mate X, the Huawei’s foldable phone. However, when folded the Samsung’s Galaxy fold is an only 4.6-inch screen with 1960×840 resolution. The software on the phone is just outstanding. It runs on Android 9 with optimized OneUI. The user interface is so well crafted that once you open the phone to its full capacity it will totally change the UI in a seamless 7.3-inch screen. The phone also allows you to multitask with three things at once. It is one of those brilliant ideas that has been turned into reality.
When the device opens up it is again one of the stunning displays Samsung has provided. It is a 2152×1536 Infinity Flex tablet display. Infinity Flex is the official name of the display. The phone is a 5G capable phone and with that, it uses a 10nm chip. It is one of the rarest occasion a chip of that caliber is used. It has 12 GB of RAM to go with that powerful chip.
That said, this foldable phone is breakthrough without a doubt but with the notch and a small display when folded makes it a bit less attractive when it is compared to Mate X. The price of this phone is, however, a bit lesser than Huawei’s Mate X. This device will go on sale in April for around $1980. This is where it gets super premium and hard for a normal consumer to buy a product of this kind.
