Oppo India has announced the launch of its next big smartphone in India. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro will be launched on March 2 and will feature an all-new dual punch hole camera, which the company is claiming to be the first 44MP dual punch-hole phone.
Oppo had launched the same device in China at the end of last year but it seems these will not be identical. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro launched in China just has a single lens punch hole camera. The smartphone was also launched with 5G support in China.
The handset was recently spotted on Amazon India and Flipkart, meaning it will be available for purchase via both the e-commerce sites.
The Indian variant will be different from the Reno 3 Pro 5G model introduced in China in December. Notably, the China variant comes with a single hole-punch selfie camera module. The company is preparing to launch the 4G version of the smartphone in the country.
Another noticeable difference is that the Oppo Reno 3 Pro model launched in China had a curved display, but the version bound to hit the shelves appears to have a flat display, something that is clearly evident in the company’s own promotional material. Even the color scheme of Oppo Reno 3 Pro shown in the company’s promos don’t match any of the color options that are available in China.
Another notable difference is that the Oppo Reno 3 Pro’s China version offered 5G support-out-of-the-box, thanks to the integrated Snapdragon X52 5G modem on the Snapdragon 765G powering it. Tasleem Arif, Vice President and India R&D Head of Oppo, has earlier said that the Oppo Reno 3 Pro launching in India next month will only offer 4G support. This also raises the question of whether the India-bound Oppo Reno 3 Pro will have a different SoC. So far, there have been no credible leaks regarding the specifications of Oppo Reno 3 Pro’s Indian variant, but we expect the company to share more details via teasers as the launch inches closer.
