Netradyne looks forward to move into 3D mapping after a funding of $21 million

Netradyne is a Bengaluru and San Diego based AI startup that focuses on driver and fleet commercial safety. They have raised around $21 million in a recent funding round, which was led by Microsoft’s corporate venture arm M12 (formerly Microsoft Ventures) and saw participation from Point72 Venture and existing investor Reliance Industries.

Reliance industries disclosed that they own a 37.4% stake in the startup with a recent funding of $8 million and a previous investment of $16 million. Netradyne provides real-time, crowdsourced, high definition (HD) maps using commercially deployed Driveri devices. These help in better transportation data analytics. The data collected are then analysed and formed into comprehensive offerings insurance companies can use to underwrite and analyze professional drivers across the country.

The transportation industry is about to get a massive upgrade with the help of new technology integrated with AI and machine learning. India has one of the largest networks of the road and almost each and every corner of the country is connected via roads. Startups such Netradyne along with financial support from big players such as Reliance and Microsoft will make the Indian roads safer for people and more profitable for businesses.
