Indian Smart TV market is being flooded by Xiaomi

Xiaomi is the Chinese technology giant known for its superior quality affordable smartphones but it is also very popular among the customers for its smart home ecosystem where its manufacture a wide variety of products in the white and brown electronics category. India has emerged as a gold mine for Xiaomi as they are currently the number one brand of smartphones in India even ahead of the global giants such as Samsung and Apple.

However, Xiaomi is not just satisfied with the success in the smartphone segment, they want their growth to continue in the home appliance segment to where they are known for their manufacture of smart devices in China. In a recent even where Xiaomi was showing off its line of ‘Smart Living’ devices, it launched 7 new products.

The new products included a few models of smart TVs, smart fitness bands, air purifiers and so on. The event happened in Bengaluru where the company has its India headquarters. Xiaomi’s India head and Global Vice President, Manu Kumar Jain has been a successful leader to take Xiaomi to the sky in the Indian market. He was directly involved in the research for the smart devices that people wanted from Xiaomi family in India. He personally went to numerous fan events where he asked the people to tell their expectations from the brand. Finally, he brought the devices which possible to launch in India as soon as possible. The smart TVs are seeing an upsurge in India as many foreign and homegrown brands are gaining popularity through online and offline channels in the country.

The three new TVs launched are Mi TV 4 Pro (55), Mi TV 4A Pro (49), and the Mi TV 4C (32). All three TVs now run Android TV 8.1 Oreo-based software with Xiaomi’s PatchWall app. The best move by the company is that they have promised for an OTA update for the smart TVs that were launched last year too so that they can get the PatchWall app from Xiaomi to access Android TV 8.1 based software.
