Here’s an in-depth review of Honor View 20, the phone with the punch-hole display

Honor's new punch-hole display shown in their latest entrant View 20

Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei has come a long way. Huawei was not necessarily known for its phones a decade ago. It had to go through its phases to become one of the largest phone-makers in the world, however, when Xiaomi came with their online storm, Huawei had to tackle it. The Chinese giant then came up with Honor which was just born to tackle Xiaomi.

Honor has a huge list of amazing smartphones but their latest entry into the sub-flagship or flagship killer market is one of the best phones in the last couple of months. Honor View 20 might be the game changer for all the smartphone designs in 2019. The first thing you notice about Honor View 20 is the front camera and that immaculate display. The display is notch-less and the front camera is right there on the screen. You can see the black punch type hole on the display which takes your attention.

Talking about cameras, the camera on View 20 is super-impressive. The performance of the camera is outstanding and it does seem to catch up with OnePlus 6T. Apart from the camera, the spec sheet of this phone is filled with top of the line numbers. The phone comes with 6 GB of RAM, this RAM is enhanced by one of the best processors in the market; Kirin 980. The ROM on the phone is 128GB and that is all the storage you get on this phone.

The screen is 6.4 inch without a notch but only a hole in the display. The resolution is 1080×2130 and the display is IPS-LCD which is quite amazing, to say the least. The camera resolution is 48 megapixel and is a Sony camera; IMX586. The front camera is also 25 megapixel. If this is not impressive then the battery on this phone is also huge. Honor has given View 20 a 4000mAh battery which is massive. The battery life is also very much satisfactory. The charging is on par with the other fast chargers in the market but does not necessarily beat any of those.

Honor View 20 is not only beautiful on the inside but just outstanding on the outside as well. It is one of the most handsome phones in the market. The design of the phone is not about symmetrical edges and curves but also about the material nowadays. The shiny backdrop which reflects light brilliantly is just superb to look at. The glass back, however, is prone to your fingerprints and will need an occasional wipe.

The design is where this phone is striking but there are other aspects of this as well. The phone manages to break the frame only once and that is for the sim card tray. Apart from this, the phone doesn’t break its frame is just brilliant overall. Apart from its striking looks and amazing specs, the price of this phone is also very impressive. The phone is sold on Amazon for INR 37,999. The price for this phone is very aggressive and it will compete with OnePlus 6T, the major question is, will people prefer Honor over OnePlus? Especially if they are spending that kind of money.
