Facebook is a platform which is known to kill its competition and just be the number one without any competition. There was a time when Facebook was threatened by a couple of apps. First one was WhatsApp and it bought it and has made several changes to it since. Instagram was the second one, Instagram became so popular that people started migrating from Facebook and this became a problem for Facebook and Zuckerberg. The next we all knew was that Kevin Systrom had sold his platform once and for all to Facebook.

That said, Facebook now had WhatsApp and Instagram under its umbrella. However that might turn out to be, Instagram and WhatsApp have only improved for good. Instagram stories have become more popular than Snapchat, which happens to be the first app to bring life to that feature. That said, some of the features available on Instagram around the world are not available in India. Some users were confused as to why it was not introduced in India.

Facebook, however, has come out with a statement that India is getting Instagram music. Previously, Facebook used to take down videos that had popular songs because of copyright issues but now the company has partnered with some of the biggest music labels in the country. Some of the music labels include T-Series, Zee Music, Yash Raj Films, and many more. This will allow users to add music as they want to in their stories.

There was a huge question as to why the feature was not available and the reason was copyright. All this long, Facebook was running around to get the signature of these labels and they have finally got into an agreement with the record labels. This will now allow users to add music and also listen to some of the songs as well.

Manish Chopra, Director at Facebook India said that he was excited about this partnership. He also said that this will add another way of sharing memories with their loved ones. He said, “We are excited about partnering the music industry in India and the idea that people here will now be able to include music in their videos on Facebook and Instagram, opening up more options for more ways to express and sharing memories with friends and family.”

Instagram and Facebook launched the music feature last year in June. The feature has been a hit as you can see many users exploring the option of sharing a video with music in the background. This was possible because Facebook struck a deal with major music labels which helped them shoo away the copyright issue.

The feature is yet to be released but it will be out in the next update. Instagram music might just be a huge hit in India as it will help us use some of our favorite songs along with our memories.
