Alibaba used 110 Months to Drive Poverty Area’s GDP to 110 Bn Yuan

According to Alibaba’s 2019 report on poverty alleviation, since Alibaba announced the establishment of the poverty alleviation fund in December 2017, the total sales of poverty-stricken counties in the country on the Alibaba platform reached 110 billion yuan. From the beginning of the year to the present, in the first half of this year, the sales of native agricultural products in poverty-stricken counties on their platforms increased by 80% year-on-year.

As one of the most advanced technology companies in the world, Alibaba has become the most active member of the first line of poverty alleviation in China.

The Internet, 5G, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing information technologies have exploded in large numbers. They are building an infrastructure that is conducive to economic development in an “invisible” way. They are also trying to deploy more advanced production relationships with new technological concepts. Intertwined, twisted into a thick rope of traction, hoping to output more powerful power for this huge industrial cruise to drive to a farther, wider ocean surface, but also to ensure that the cruise ship can always get Adequate “supply”, they are also working hard to repair the home port of the cruise ship that bears the responsibility of “replenishment warehouse” – agriculture.

Purchasing power comes from productivity, and expanding domestic demand is the current main direction. The reduction of consumption will reflect the lack of a driving force for domestic demand. The lack of internal demand will hinder economic development. This is a systematic result. In this large economic system composed of agriculture, industry and commerce, agriculture is the foundation of industrial development, and industrial progress will counter the prosperity of agriculture. The two are related and mutually beneficial, and the relationship between the two sides affects the ecological balance of this economic system. Just like a person’s two legs are indispensable. Just the right agricultural lag is more obvious, and the direct consequences, not to mention the overall economic development rhythm, have at least caused income barriers for farmers.

Bring into play all the advanced elements, including organizations, enterprises, and individuals, respectively, with different strengths, models, and angles to target the backward regions, collectives, and individuals to start the rich and the rich, and use a more specific set of measures to revitalize the three rural areas. The biggest feature is that it is “specific”. The aim is to smooth out or maximize the income gap between urban and rural areas. These are based on the national policy of revitalizing the countryside and ensuring poverty alleviation. From this perspective, the current poverty alleviation policy not only reflects the accuracy of the micro-station and the overall significance of the macro layout.

The reality of how to improve the current rural economic backwardness and low peasant income has been mentioned. The highest level of attention has been mentioned. As can be seen from the previous poverty alleviation report of Alibaba, the first is the total sales of its platform agricultural products worth 110 billion. It reflects that the productivity of poor rural areas is relatively low. The popular point is that the output of agricultural products is relatively high, and it is in a state of high yield and low income. Since the output is not low, the problem is that the increase in income will be a problem.

We often see in many online social tools that many farmers will produce their own agricultural products. They use social tools to spread their own product information to places outside the mountains. The purpose is to know the world. “My passion fruit is delicious. It’s still cheaper” or “my home’s orange skin is thin” and so on.

In addition, if Alibaba intervenes in the form of e-commerce, can it be possible to solve the problem fundamentally by invigorating the productivity gains in rural areas? More than that, this is only the initial stage. In the past, when farmers’ incomes were low, they would try to enter the city to seek another way to increase their income. However, the reality is that many farmers’ life skills are limited. In the cities, they rely on heavy physical labour to obtain returns. The output ratio is not high. And more importantly, it will cause a large-scale and unintentional loss of the rural population, which will intensify the impact on rural development. In the long run, it will fall into an infinite loop.

We saw that the Ali platform took only one and a half years to achieve such results. The next step is to promote the continued expansion of the war on the basis of this good start. How to expand? Cultivate new agricultural talents, build a new agricultural production relationship, build an agro ecological system, and make the rural “popularity” active.

Take Alibaba as an example. At the beginning of the establishment of the poverty alleviation fund in December 2017, it invested 10 billion yuan to participate in poverty alleviation in the five major areas of education, health, women, ecology and e-commerce. At the same time, Alibaba also pioneered the internet company’s “Poverty Alleviation Specialist” position. In the past six months, four employees have been sent to Gansu, Guizhou, Hunan, Shanxi and other state-level poverty-stricken counties to take root.

Taking Xunwu County, a poverty-stricken county in Jiangxi Province, as an example, Alibaba played a platform role and moved more than 6,100 poor farmers in the local area to participate in e-commerce, and a large number of U-specialties were sold throughout the country. Among them, the local farmers Lin Ruiping and Pan Qiuxia sold more than 100,000 kilograms of passion fruit through the live broadcast and e-commerce platform in a year, and this led to more than 2,000 poor people in poverty.

In addition, Alibaba has also built a Ma Yun rural boarding school to create a good educational environment for left-behind children. At the same time, it launched a “Fulfilling Mulan” project for women to get rid of poverty, strengthening basic security for poor women and supporting poor families to go to school. Women provide employment opportunities and awaken rural women’s scientific parenting to support the comprehensive development of women in poverty-stricken areas. Nationally, the project has covered 510,000 poor women in 8 provinces and autonomous regions.

In other words, to solve the actual poverty alleviation, we must start thinking about poverty alleviation. The root of poverty lies in the decoupling of farmers from the modern business model. Alibaba teaches the most advanced e-commerce business model to local farmers and organizes business operations and agricultural production. Linked together to form a situation that should be both high-yield and high-selling. There are many aspects involved in the three rural issues, and every corner is worthy of attention.
