India is the second largest smartphone market in the word and one the fastest growing too. The market provides immense opportunities that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The sale of smartphones in India is outpacing any other market in the world. According to research firms across the globe, 2018 will be the first year when the total number of smartphones sold in the country crosses the 50 million mark. Last year the data was 45 million but the huge discounts offered by the e-commerce players and smartphone brands have pushed the sales data over the top.
This year’s festive season is still going on as it started in the early October. This will end with the Christmas and New Year. Until then, people’s mood will be still festive and the sale of smartphones will be high. The offline sale, however, is going to take a hit, as it will decline gradually. It has been seen that the Indian consumers’ trust in online shopping has risen in the fast few years. The consumers go to the physical stores to get a touch and feel experience and then order online to get better discounts and other offers such as cash back or gifts.
